Licensed to drive dragsters at the age of 16, Frank has spent his life driving some of the fastest machines on the planet.

Frank built his racing career piloting 300 mph Top Fuel Dragsters, Nitro Funny Cars, Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars, in addition to obtaining NHRA licenses in Pro Stock, Super Comp and Super Gas.

During the past 25 years that Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School has been in operation, Frank has taught thousands of drivers, in a variety of classes, the fast way down the quarter mile. When not teaching regular driving classes or working with many of today’s top professionals Frank spends time behind the wheel of a 330 mph NHRA Nitro Funny Car owned by Roger Burgess.

Jack Beckman

Driver of MTS
Funny Car for Don Schumacher Racing

Jack Beckman holds licenses in eight NHRA categories and has driven Top Fuel Dragsters, Nitro Funny Cars, Top Alcohol Dragsters, Top Alcohol Funny Cars, Front Engine Nostalgia Dragsters and Super Comp Dragsters.

After winning the 2003 NHRA World Championship in Super Comp, Jack drove the Menards Top Fuel Dragster for the 2005 season. In 2006 Jack started driving Nitro Funny Car for Don Schumacher Racing. Since then he has won numerous National titles in Nitro Funny Car.

Jack Beckman came to Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School having served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, and has instructed thousands of students at Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School.

Kathy Fisher

Kathy Fisher is no stranger to the world of Drag Racing. Kathy was licensed in Super Comp at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School in 2003 and more recently earned her NHRA TAD license in the school’s Top Alcohol Dragster, doing so while making her first pass into the 5 second zone.

Holding a total of seven competition licenses, Kathy has an IHRA Quick Rod National & Divisional event wins, numerous National and Divisional final round appearances and a top 10 national finish. She was a Summit Racing Equipment All-Star Qualifier (in 2007) and has been a constant top 10 finisher in IHRA Div 3 Quick Rod each year she has competed.

When not working with the Frank Hawley Drag Racing School crew or competing in her Dragon Racing Fuels/Ohio Crankshaft powered, Amalie Oil/K&N dragster, she can be found in front of the TV camera. Kathy hosts various shows such as "Inside Drag Racing", "Mothers Car Show Series", “Lokar Car Show” and "Bidding Wars" among others on Fox Sports.

Matt Milano

Jimmy Montgomery

On weekends Jimmy races his Super Comp Dragster. He is a three-time Super Pro Track Champion at Gainesville Raceway, 2004 National Dragster Challenge Super Pro winner, 2002 Valvoline Cup National Points Standings Runner-up and a recipient of the Forrest Myer Sportsmanship Award.

Jimmy maintains the entire fleet of race cars for Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School. He has more than a decade and a half experience in race car fabrication working for one of the nation’s top chassis builders and operating his own chassis business.


Paul Shields

Paul Shields started working at Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School in 1994. Paul not only assists with many of the numerous aspects of the classes, coordinates the drag racing programs for graduates of the school, but also takes a special interest in implementing the Christian Outreach Drag Racing Programs.

Paul has been racing since 1992, is licensed in Super Gas, Super Comp, and ET and currently campaigns a Chevy powered Dragster.


Ronnie Swearingen
Ronnie Swearingen Ronnie Swearingen literally grew up in drag racing, attending races and working on race cars at Lions Drag Strip when he was 10 years old. Ronnie is one of the most knowledgeable crew chiefs in drag racing and has multiple national event victories to his credit, having put drivers like Dean Skuza, Tim Wilkerson, KC Spurlock, Al Segrini and more in the victory circle.
